Footage of random people from the Philippines (asked / directed by Mitch & Ian) to read texts from multimedia art books, “The mouth” as the focal subject, is interspersed with familiar videos of local political icons and local classic ads, as well as fragments of relatively not as well known videos by New York contemporary artists such as “Gary Hill’s” mouth piece video, and works by Matthew Barney, Vito Acconci among others. This video was intended for the purpose of creating an impression of a “movie trailer”. It has been played/plugged both on several commercial & non commercial establishments since early 2007 up to present. It investigates on images capitalized to create familiarity & raise questions / discussions among the local art community even to public viewers.
